Veteran Nollywood actor, Moses Armstrong has been arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in Akwa Ibom State.
According to the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, who confirmed the news in a chat with Qed.ng, the case is “a very serious one”.
The case is being as it is being handled by the Family Empowerment and Youth Re-Orientation Path Initiative, an organization founded by the First Lady of the state, Martha Udom Emmanuel.
“To get involved with a child as young as 16yrs, is not something I and the association I represent, would stand for.
This is a very sad development involving a member of ours, but I wouldn’t want to comment any further on this case.” He added.
We gathered that Moses Armstrong was a Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel before his arrest.
The actor lost his wife and colleague, Rita Armstrong to a ghastly accident which occurred at the Ugbogui axis of the Benin-Ore-Lagos Expressway in 2018.
The deceased died from spinal cord injuries she sustained from the accident.
